What is a party platform?
The platform is a party official statement of positions and priorities, usually adopted at conventions or congresses. A movement mobilizes people around a cause without necessarily contesting elections, a party is a durable organization whose core function is winning office. Denmarks Social Liberals, Norways Venstre, and several Latin American nineteenth century parties also rank among long lived continuous organizations.
